LEGAL INTERN OPENING
Gençoğlu Partners Istanbul Office, is currently seeking a Legal Intern to join its team.
Our office advises across a range of practice areas, with a particular focus on commercial law, contracts, dispute resolution, criminal law and intellectual property. We welcome applications from candidates who wish to gain close exposure to qualified legal practice, work systematically on real matters and pursue their professional development within a disciplined and structured environment.
About the Position
This position is intended for candidates who view the traineeship period not merely as a formal requirement, but as a meaningful stage of professional development grounded in both responsibility and learning. The legal intern will be involved, in a structured and supervised manner, in the office’s legal and advisory work, and will actively contribute to legal research, drafting, file follow-up and the internal functioning of the office.
Core Qualifications
Strong legal research, reading and written communication skills,
Careful attention to Turkish writing rules and the ability to adapt to a disciplined corporate drafting style,
A strong willingness to learn, a high sense of responsibility and the ability to work effectively within a team,
Organised, attentive and diligent in follow-up and task management,
A strong awareness of confidentiality and sensitivity to professional ethical standards,
Preferably a good command of written and reading English.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting legal research on legislation, case law and doctrine,
Assisting in the preparation of draft petitions, notices, contracts and legal memoranda,
Taking part in the digital and physical follow-up of active files,
Assisting with preparatory work relating to hearings, applications, notifications and similar legal processes,
Contributing to internal reporting, filing systems and the orderly maintenance of the office archive,
Preparing summaries and working notes in relation to client files when required.
